About MMSHRM and WCWI

Metro Milwaukee Society for Human Resource Management (MMSHRM) has been serving human resource management professionals throughout Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin.  From their beginning until now, MMSHRM has grown to become the largest HR association in the area and one of the largest SHRM-affiliated chapters in the country.

The Wellness Council of Wisconsin (WCWI) is a non-profit organization that focuses on professional development and networking opportunities to promote a human-centered approach to employee well-being. The organization is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of the importance of employee well-being and the employee experience, making them the sole non-profit organization in Wisconsin to do so exclusively.

About This Event – Presentations and Resource Fair

Our groups are partnering together to accomplish this goal:  To bring forth the issues facing HR practitioners related to mental health in the workplace and provide information on solutions from local partners and providers.

We will kick off the evening with presentations from NAMI Southeast Wisconsin and MHA Lakeshore. Each group will share its view on mental health challenges within the workplace and offer information on solutions that employers can consider.

In addition to presentations, the program will continue with a mental health resource fair, which would have other local partners present to share information, resources, especially underutilized and no/low-cost resources with HR professionals and company representatives. Our hope is that we do more than drop another problem on our HR professionals, we want to provide them with solutions, and that’s what the resource fair can do.

About the Resource Fair

We have invited resource providers to attend the event without cost.  We are simply trying to make HR professionals more aware of the resources that are available and are asking for their participation.  If an organization cannot attend, we are asking that they provide information on resources anyways, including pamphlets, flyers, etc.

Networking and Prizes

This will be an informative event, but it will also be fun.  Our speakers will reinforce the importance of the topic, but the main event is YOU and your interactions with organizations exhibiting at the resource fair and with your fellow HR professionals!  There will be food and drink and there will be door prizes too, so be sure to attend.

What’s the Cost to Attend and When Do You Need to Know I’m Attending?

There is no cost to attend, thanks to the generous support of our friends at GATHER and The Deer District and our sponsors.  All we ask is that you register in advance.  We do ask one other thing.  We ask that you register AND attend.  Without a financial commitment, the temptation to register and skip the event is real.  Please resist and honor your commitment to attend.

This event is open to the first 60 people registering.  All registrations must be made by Wednesday, January 10.
