Affiliations

Metro Milwaukee SHRM is one of eighteen local HR associations in Wisconsin that are affiliates of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the largest HR association in the world. SHRM divides the country into five regions, including the North Central Region, which includes Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Nebraska.

In addition to our national affiliation, Metro Milwaukee SHRM is part of the Wisconsin State Council of SHRM. The state council - WISHRM - is a vital communication link between the chapters around the State, council leaders, and national, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas about chapter administration and programs and services designed to enhance the professional development of the HR community.

Metro Milwaukee SHRM also supports the SHRM Foundation, a nonprofit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The mission of the SHRM Foundation is to maximize the impact of the HR profession on organizational decision-making and performance by promoting innovation, education, research, and the use of research-based knowledge. The SHRM Foundation's accomplishes this mission by supporting innovative academic research grants, scholarships for students studying in the HR field, and through educational resources – from books, CDs, DVDs, online tools, and educational programming.

There are fifteen affiliated student chapter in the state, two of whom work directly with Metro Milwaukee SHRM – Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

The mission of NAAAHR Milwaukee Chapter is to serve the professional. We provide education, training, communications, networking, and more. To advance the profession, we connect with the larger business community, promote the work of the HR professional, and advocate on behalf of our members.
