JOB SUMMARY / DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Total Rewards Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing payroll, monitoring the Federal State and local taxes, setting payroll policy, administering the benefit and leave programs and being a resource for employees and management.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll for over 750 employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. virtual, overtime, leave balances, headcount, and retirement contribution reports)
  • Oversee the accuracy of payroll tax filings.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for managers, associates, and internal staff for payroll related issues and concerns.
  • Assist with administering benefit and leave programs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues pertaining to payroll, tax levies, garnishments, time tracking and PTO.
  • Monitor the activity on Ceridian Dayforce, setup new users, download data to Ceridian for payroll processing.
  • Oversee attendance records.

Other Functions

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year end reports.
  • Compile information and complete various surveys.

REQUIREMENTS:  

    Key Competencies

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
    • Experience with HRIS, preferably Ceridian Dayforce.
    • Proven ability to organize work efficiently and execute assignments accurately and neatly with attention to detail and maintenance of confidentiality.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    •  The ability to develop relationships and communicate with employees at all levels within the company.
    • Knowledge of best practices in human resources and payroll.
    • Must have solid understanding of benefits, employment law, EEO, AA, FLSA and other federal and state requirements.

    Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of payroll, benefits, and human resource policies and practices required.
    • 2+ years of experience with payroll processing and benefit administration required.
    • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce payroll processing highly preferred.
    • Valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record along with an adequate automobile insurance.
